STEEL WHEELS · 15°DC TUBELESS SERIES · 22.5"

22.5×8.25 Tubeless Steel Wheel — Trailer & Drive-Axle Workhorse

In regular production alongside the 22.5×9.00: a 15°DC tubeless steel rim for 11R22.5 and 295/80R22.5 tyres, catalogued in ISO, North American and JIS bolt patterns, produced under IATF 16949:2016.

Where the 22.5×8.25 fits

The 8.25-inch rim is the catalogue-standard width for 11R22.5 and 295/80R22.5 — the tyre classes on most trailer axles and many drive axles across East Africa, the Gulf and Latin America. Where the 22.5×9.00 pairs with 12R22.5 and 315/80R22.5, the 22.5×8.25 is the size a distributor sells by the axle set: on duals, every three-axle trailer takes twelve and every 6×4 drive bogie eight.

In our range it runs alongside the 22.5×9.00 and shares its construction: the same 15°DC tubeless profile to GB/T 31961 and the same AG440CL / AG380CL wheel steel. Only the rim well width and the bolt-pattern set change.

Catalogue configurations

Dimensions are reproduced from the group's wheel catalogue: five bolt-pattern configurations plus the offset-120 model. Fields the catalogue does not list are shown as —.

Other weights, valve-hole position and hole chamfer come with the model drawing. The full 15°DC tubeless series (56 models, 16.5"–24.5") is in the technical catalogue.

H1 is the hub-piloted flat-seat form — Ø26 holes, flange nuts, the wheel located on the hub pilots. JSR22 is the stud-piloted ball-seat form — Ø32 or Ø32.5 holes, centred by spherical-seat nuts. 10×335 H1 is the ISO fitment on European and current Chinese trucks; 10×285.75 is the North American pattern, catalogued here in both forms; 8×285 and 8×275 ball-seat are the JIS patterns on Japanese trucks and the used Japanese imports common in East Africa. A matching PCD with the wrong seat form is the most frequent fitment error — the PCD and bolt-pattern chart shows how to tell them apart.

Construction and material

Rim and disc

  • 15°DC drop-centre tubeless rim profile to GB/T 31961
  • Rim section 7 mm across all catalogued configurations
  • Disc thickness 13.5–14 mm by configuration (see table)
  • Hot-rolled wheel steel AG440CL / AG380CL (CL series per YB/T 4151), direct coil supply
  • Rim rolled from strip and butt-welded; disc pressed and welded into the rim

Fitment and finish

  • Standard tyre 11R22.5 (10R22.5 on the 10×335 H1 model as catalogued) or 295/80R22.5 class
  • Single tubeless valve hole; position per model drawing
  • Suitable for dual mounting; confirm the nut set with your hub
  • Coating colour specified at order
  • Made to OEM drawing or with distributor marking — see OEM & Custom

Load rating

Load capacity is reported per model: each configuration has its own radial and cornering fatigue result, and the test report for the model ordered is available on request. As a market reference, 22.5×8.25 tubeless steel wheels are typically rated 3,150–3,750 kg per wheel; North American catalogues commonly mark the same size 7,400 lb (≈3,360 kg). Size the position from those figures — a 13 t trailer axle on duals needs at least 3,250 kg per wheel — then confirm against the report. The load rating guide covers the arithmetic and margins for overloaded fleets and rough roads.

Quality system and documents

The 22.5×8.25 is manufactured under IATF 16949:2016 — certificate No. 0504999 (manufacturing of steel and aluminum wheels), alongside group certificate No. 0599434. For a buyer's file:

  • Certificate copies are sent with the quotation; verify them through the issuing certification body — the IATF verification guide explains how.
  • Per-model test report (radial and cornering fatigue) available on request for the configuration ordered.
  • Model drawing with PCD, hole form, offset and valve position issued for approval before production.
  • Third-party pre-shipment inspection can be arranged before loading.

How to specify the 22.5×8.25 in an enquiry

Five lines are enough for a spec check and quotation: bolt pattern as hole count × hole diameter and PCD with the seat form (for example 10×32.5 JSR22 on 285.75); offset, or the vehicle model if unsure; tyre size; quantity per configuration and container plan; and colour. Ask at enquiry stage for IATF copies, the test report or country-specific conformity documents. The import guide covers loading, documents and inspection.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 22.5×8.25 interchangeable with the 22.5×9.00?

Not as a rule. Both are 22.5-inch 15°DC tubeless wheels and are catalogued in the same bolt patterns, but the rim width has to match the tyre: 8.25 is the catalogue-standard rim for 11R22.5 and 295/80R22.5, while 9.00 is the catalogue-standard rim for 12R22.5 and 315/80R22.5. Check the tyre maker's approved-rim table before mixing widths on one vehicle.

Which bolt pattern do I need — 10×335 or 10×285.75?

It follows the vehicle, not the wheel size. 10×335 with Ø26 hub-piloted holes (H1) is the ISO fitment on European and current Chinese trucks; 10×285.75 is the North American pattern and exists in both hub-piloted (H1, Ø26) and ball-seat (JSR22, Ø32.5) forms; 8×285 and 8×275 ball-seat are the JIS patterns on Japanese trucks. Confirm PCD, hole count, hole diameter and seat form from the hub before ordering.

What is the load rating of the 22.5×8.25 steel wheel?

Load capacity is reported per model with its test report, available on request. As a market reference, 22.5×8.25 tubeless steel wheels are typically rated 3,150–3,750 kg per wheel; North American catalogues commonly mark the same size 7,400 lb (about 3,360 kg). Size the position from your axle rating first, then confirm against the model's report.

What does a 22.5×8.25 tubeless steel wheel weigh?

Unit weights are supplied on request with the model drawing. As a market reference, 22.5×8.25 tubeless steel wheels typically fall in the 38–45 kg range.
